Escape from Fire



The winning photo, "Escape from Fire", was taken by Australian photographer Troy Hipwell. It shows a koala escaping from a bushfire in New South Wales. The other two photos show the aftermath of the fire, with burnt trees and animals. The context for this photograph is that there have been numerous bushfires in Australia over the past few years, resulting in loss of life and property. This particular fire occurred in November 2019, when more than 200 homes were destroyed and six people died. This photograph captures the desperation of the situation, as the koala is clearly fleeing for its life. The other two photos show the devastation that can be caused by bushfires, with burnt trees and animals lying on the ground. This photograph is a powerful reminder of the destructive force of bushfires, and the need for everyone to be prepared for them. Bushfires are a common occurrence in Australia, and they can have devastating consequences. The second photo shows the aftermath of the fire, with burnt trees and animals lying on the ground. There is devastation as far as the eye can see, and it is clear that many lives were lost in this fire.

The third photo alsoshows the aftermath of the fire, but from a different perspective. In this photo, we see houses that have been destroyed by the blaze. These homes were people's livelihoods and memories, and now they are gone.

The fourth photo shows firefighters battling to control the blaze. They are surrounded by thick smoke, and their faces are covered with soot . This image capturesthe dedication of these men and women who put their lives at risk to save others .
